PRESS RELEASE (JANUARY 2008)
New - Flower Carpet ‘Amber’
The well known rose hybridisers ‘Noack Roses’ who have developed a range of remarkably disease resistant roses under the Flower Carpet® name; announce the release of Flower Carpet® Amber (Reg. Var. Noa97400A.)
In the NOACK ROSEN trial gardens the flowering of the first of a new fashionable amber colour was very exciting. Individual blooms, semi double petal type – about 5 cm wide provide a glorious display of iridescent colours, from amber to apricot.
The main colour of blooming instantly led to the selection of AMBER as the commercial name.
Noack continued to trial AMBER for many years checking for hardiness and disease resistance before releasing the new variety to commercial garden rose growers.
A further three years of trial in the climate of Great Britain and Ireland has now proved it is worthy of joining the Flower Carpet® rose group.
AMBER grows into a compact bush 60-70 cm high with a spread about 60 cm, carrying an abundance of gorgeous semi double petal flowers. The growth habit is vigorous and arching with dense foliage. A single plant of AMBER displays brilliantly in the garden or patio pot – massing 3 plants together will provide a superb display, even in their first season. AMBER will continue to improve year after year with masses of flowers blooming in flushes.
From spring 2008 Flower Carpet® AMBER will be available from Garden Centers nationally.
